How to backup and Recover AWS EC2 Instances.
How to Get Started
Step 1: Download and Install BDRSuite Backup Server
To Install BDRSuite Backup Server, watch the Backup Server Installation Video below.
Step 2: Create Backup Repository Configuration
Configure storage options such as Azure Blob Storage, local storage (DAS, NAS, SAN), or any other public cloud storage supported by BDRSuite (e.g., S3, Google Cloud, S3-compatible storage like Wasabi or MinIO) to store backup data.
Step 3: Add AWS Account as a Data Source
Navigate to the 'Cloud Workloads' tab, select the 'Data Sources' menu, and click on 'Add AWS Account.' Follow the prerequisites to set up the necessary permissions in AWS. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the How-to Video linked above.
Step 4: Configure Backup for AWS
Name your backup job and select the type of configuration and depending on which select the backup repository.
Choose AWS Instances to back up.
Set up the backup schedules, retention policies, and encryption options.
Save the backup job.
Monitor backup progress, edit jobs, view reports, check statuses, and manage backup jobs centrally.
Step 5: AWS Recovery
Navigate to the 'Recovery - Restore Backup Data' menu
Select the appropriate restore option
Choose the restore point or timestamp
Specify the target instance where you want to restore the data.
Initiate the restore process.
