How to Get Started

Step 1: Download and install BDRSuite Backup Server

  1. To Install BDRSuite Backup Server, watch the Backup Server Installation Video below.

Step 2: Create Backup Repository Configuration

Configure local or remote storage such as DAS, NAS, SAN or Use your own public cloud storage like S3, Azure, Google, S3 Compatible like Wasabi, MinIO, etc as a backup storage target to store backup data.

Step 3: Add Google Workspace Organization as a Data Source

Navigate to the 'SaaS Applications' tab, select the 'Data Sources*' menu, and click on 'Google Workspace Organization' to add it as a data source in your BDRSuite backup server. Make sure to follow the necessary prerequisites, which include setting up OAuth credentials and granting the required permissions to access your Google Workspace environment.

Step 4: Configure backup for Google Workspace

  1. Specify a backup job name & select the backup repository
  2.  Choose specific items to back up, including emails, contacts, calendar events from User Mailbox, and the contents of Shared Drives.
  3. Configure backup scheduling, retention and encryption policies
  4. Save the backup job
  5. You can monitor backup progress, edit job, view reports, check status and manage backup jobs centrally.

Step 5. Google Workspace Recovery: User Mailbox and Shared Drives

  1. Navigate to the 'Recovery - Restore Backup Data' menu
  2. Choose either 'User Mailbox Restore' or 'Shared Drives Restore' depending on what you need to recover.
  3. Select Restore Point or timestamp to restore
  4. Choose Items for Restoration: 
    1. For User Mailbox, select specific emails, contacts, or calendar event
    2. For Shared Drives, select the desired files or folders.
  5. Select Target Location: 
    1. For User Mailbox, choose the target mailbox where the restored items will be placed.
    2. For Shared Drives, choose the target location within Google Workspace for the restored items.
  6. Specify the restore details and initiate the restore
