How to Get Started

Step 1: Download and Install BDRSuite Backup Server

  1. Click to Download BDRSuite Backup Server here
  2. To Install BDRSuite Backup Server, watch the Backup Server Installation Video below.

Step 2: Create Backup Repository Configuration 

Configure local or remote storage, including DAS, NAS, SAN, or choose public cloud storage like Azure Blob, S3, Google Cloud, or S3-compatible storage options such as Wasabi or MinIO as your backup storage target.

Step 3: Add MSSQL Database as a Data Source  

Navigate to the 'Applications &DBs' tab and select 'Add MSSQL Database.' Enter the required connection details, including hostname, port, username, and password. Ensure that the necessary permissions are granted for accessing the MySQL database.

How to Add MSSQL Database Server as a Data Source for Backup

Step 4: Configure Backup for MSSQL  

  1. Name your backup job and select the configured backup repository.  
  2. Choose specific databases to back up.
  3. Set up backup schedules, retention policies, compression and encryption settings.  
  4. Save the backup job.
  5. You can monitor backup progress, edit jobs, view reports, check statuses, and manage backup jobs from a centralized dashboard.

Step 5: MSSQL Recovery 

  1. Navigate to the 'Recovery - Restore Backup Data' menu and click on restore. 
  2. Select the specific database to restore.
  3. Choose the restore point or timestamp for the restore.
  4. Specify the target location for restoration.
  5. Confirm the details and initiate the restoration process.
