Microsoft SQL Server Recovery can be performed directly from the BDRSuite Backup Server. The recovery can be performed at a granular level. . You can click on the Recovery tab in the BDRSuite Backup Servers home screen and select Restore Backup Data. All the backup jobs will be listed from which you can choose the one to be recovered and click on the restore icon of the respective job.

Different types of recovery options will available from which you can choose the one suiting your requirement.

Step 1: Choose Host and Restore Type

Choose the host from the list of backed-up hosts available on the left side of the screen and choose what type of restore you want to perform. In this case, choose Microsoft SQL Server Recovery.

Step 2: Choose the Restore Version

You can select the restore point which will be available to you depending on the retention policy you used during configuration. Based on the requirement choose a restore point.

Step 3: SQL DB Selection

  1. You need to choose the SQL Server Instance from the drop-down menu.
  2. A list of the Local Server and Remote Server will be shown from which you can choose.
  3. choose between the current account or use the following account by giving the credential details below to authenticate the Window Server.
  4. Next, you need to authenticate the SQL Server Instance. You can either use the Window Server account or the following account by providing the credential details.
  5. Now, choose the SQL Server Database by clicking on the drop-down menu. A window with a listed SQL Server Database will be shown from which you can choose the required Database.
  6. The disk with the chosen Database will be mounted for the SQL restore process

Step 4: SQL DB Schema

You will have the option to select one or more schema.

Step 5: Restore Options

  1. You can choose to export the data as a file or to a SQL Server
  2. You can choose the Restore Type by selecting either ‘ Export Schema only’ or ‘Export Schema & Data’.
  3. If you are selecting to Export as a File then along with it choose the Export format and target location
  4. If you select to export to SQL Server, then choose the Target Instance and the Database options
  5. The Database option can be Restore to an existing database or to a new database. If the latter is the case then choose the Target new Database.

Step 6: Review & Restore

Review the restore configuration and click on Restore
