Granular recovery for Microsoft SQL Server can also be performed directly from the BDRSuite Backup Server. Start by clicking on the Recovery tab and selecting Restore Backup Data. All backup jobs will be listed, from which you can select the one to restore and click on the restore icon.
Several recovery options will be available based on your requirements.
Step 1: Choose Host and Restore Type
Choose the host from the list of available backed-up hosts and select Microsoft SQL Server Recovery as your restore type.
Step 2: Choose the Restore Version
Select the restore point, which will be available depending on the retention policy set during configuration.
Step 3: SQL DB Selection
Choose the SQL Server instance from the drop-down menu. You will see a list of Local and Remote Servers. Select your authentication method, either using the current account or providing credentials for the Window Server. Then, choose the SQL Server Database from the available list.
Step 4: SQL DB Schema
You can select one or more schemas to restore.
Step 5: Restore Options
You can choose to export the data as a file or restore it directly to a SQL Server. Select the restore type:
- Export Schema Only
- Export Schema & Data
If exporting as a file, choose the export format and target location. If restoring to SQL Server, select the target instance and database options. You can restore to an existing database or create a new one.
Step 6: Review & Restore
Review the restore configurations and click on Restore.
