Unable to Install BBA on Target Host Due to Insufficient Privileges
During the process of installing BDRSuite Backup Agent (BBA) on the target host, the installation is unsuccessful due to inadequate privileges associated with the provided credentials.
The credentials used while adding the host lack the necessary administrative privilege required for the installation
To address this issue, please follow the steps outlined below:
1. Use Privileged User Credentials:
Provide user credentials with either Domain\Native administrator privilege while adding the host. The credential options are as follows:
- Domain user account credential (member of Local Administrator group)
- Built-in account (Administrator) credential. Retry the installation using these credentials.
2. Adjust User Account Control (UAC):
If the error persists, modify the User Account Control settings on the target Windows host using the following steps:
- Type 'uac' in the Windows Start menu search.
- Click "Change User Account Control settings."
- Slide the UAC slider down to "Never Notify."
- Confirm the changes by clicking OK and restart the computer.
3. Manual Installation as Alternative:
If remote installation continues to encounter problems, you can manually download and install BBA on the target host. For more detailed instructions, refer to
KB:115202.
By following these steps, you can overcome the insufficient privileges issue and successfully install BDRSuite Backup Agent on the desired target host.
