Is it possible to exclude certain recovery points from the Retention policy?

No, BDRSuite does not allow you to exclude specific recovery points from the retention policy. Once a retention policy is configured, all recovery points are subject to the rules defined, meaning they will be retained or deleted based on the version-based or day-based settings you have chosen.

However, GFS (Grandfather-Father-Son) retention provides a level of flexibility. GFS recovery points, which are typically created for long-term archival (e.g., weekly, monthly, or yearly), are preserved according to their defined schedule. Even if older incremental or full recovery points are deleted due to the retention policy, GFS recovery points are retained as per the specified timeframe for long-term storage. This ensures that essential recovery points for compliance or archival needs remain intact, while older, non-GFS recovery points are removed.
