How do I set up retention policies for disk-image backups?

During backup configuration, navigate to the 'Retention' settings.

  1. Retention Disabled: By default, retention is disabled. When disabled, all restore points and the backup data will be retained indefinitely.

  2. Retention Enabled: To manage how long backups are kept, enable the retention settings.

If retention is enabled, only the configured number of restore points will be retained. Then, choose the retention type and specify the criteria based on your requirement.

  1. Basic Retention: Select either:

    1. Version-Based Retention: Specify the number of backup versions to retain (up to 999).

    2. Day-Based Retention: Specify the number of days to keep backups (up to 999).

  2. GFS (Grandfather-Father-Son) Retention: Set up a hierarchical structure for backups, allowing for the retention of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly backups.

    1. GFS full

    2. GFS incremental
