In the Offsite DR Server, a Simple Repository is a basic backup storage solution that allows you to store backup data on a single storage volume. It's ideal for straightforward backup setups, offering ease of configuration and management. Follow the steps below to create a simple backup repository.
In the Offsite DR Server, navigate to Infrastructure -> Backup Repository-> Block Storage.
Click on the 'Create New Block Repository' button on this page.
Step1: Repository Name
Enter a name for your repository
Step 2: Repository Type
Simple Backup Repository
Choose this repository type if you are adding just a single storage volume as your destination to the backup repository.
Note: In the future, if this storage volume gets filled, to continue the incremental backup, either you need to manually extend the capacity of the storage volume or you need to move back up data to a new storage target that has a much higher storage capacity. So, before choosing this repository type, make sure you have enough storage capacity in the storage volume based on your requirements.
Step 3: Set Default Repository
Choose whether the repository you’re creating will serve as the default storage or not.
Step 4: Backup Storage Location
If you are going to create a simple repository then select or enter the folder path to store the backup data.
Step 5: Compression & Encryption Settings
You can leave it enabled by default, or disable it here if needed.
Once you enter all these details click on 'Create'.
