Backup Agent Overview
BDRSuite offers a method to install backup agents on NAS/File Share machines you plan to backup. The backup agent is a mandatory component for NAS Files/Folders Backup. It runs with the service name – BDRSuite Delegation Service (BDS) and uses the port 32004. Ensure firewall outbound rules permit this port on the Windows Server & Endpoint and inbound rules on the Backup Server.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Add NAS/File Share
1. Log in to the BDRSuite backup server console. Navigate to the 'Data Sources' menu and click on 'NAS/File Share'.
2. Display Name: Enter a name for the host that will help you identify it easily.
3. Share Path: Enter the UNC path to the file share from which you want to backup files/folders.
4. Credential: You can add the machine credentials in prior under the 'Credential Management' and select the credentials when adding the host here or you can simply Click on Add Credential to create a new one.
5. Select Agent for NAS/File Share: By default, Windows hosts with a backup agent, added through **Data Source -> Add Microsoft Windows**, will automatically appear in the list of available backup agents. The selected backup agent will then be used to access the specified file share for backup processing.
Note: Make sure the 'BDRSuite Delegation Services' on the backup agent is running in an Administrator user account.
6. Review & Save: Review all the entered host information and click on the Save button. The backup server will now initiate the backup agent installation on the target backup host. You should receive a confirmation message indicating that the host has been successfully added upon the completion of the backup agent installation.
The NAS/File Share will then be listed on the Data Sources -> NAS/File Share page on your backup server. You can now configure backups from the Backup -> Configure Backup -> NAS/File Share menu.
