To ensure seamless operation of BDRSuite Backup Servers for backup, restore, delete, and web service requests, specific ports need to be configured on the BDRSuite Backup Server. The following ports are utilized by BDRSuite Backup Server and should be configured:
1. TCP Port 32004 – For processing Backup/Restore/Delete/Replication requests.
2. TCP Port 32007 – For processing Backup/Restore/Delete/Replication requests.
3. HTTP Port 6060 – For processing WebService requests.
4. HTTP Port 6061 – For processing WebService requests.
In certain cases, it is necessary to add ports to the Firewall exception list to ensure the smooth functioning of BDRSuite. Operating systems like Windows XP SP2/SP3, Vista, and Windows 7 have built-in firewalls that restrict ports opened by applications. For these systems, it is recommended to add the ports or the VembuBDR.exe application to the Firewall exception list.
The following ports need to be added to the Firewall exception list on BDRSuite Clients:
1. TCP Port 32005 – For processing Apache/PHP console requests to BDRSuite backend.
2. TCP Port 32008 – For processing Exchange Mailbox backups in Windows 64-bit OS.
3. HTTP Port 6060 – For processing web console requests.
4. HTTP Port 6061 – For processing web console requests.
Once the configuration is complete, run the following commands on the BDRSuite client agent to ensure successful connection to the BDRSuite backup server:
Step 1: Run the command: `ping <server name or IP address>`
Step 2: Run the command: `nslookup <server name>`
Step 3: Telnet to the server: `telnet <server name or IP address> 32004, 32007`
