Agent Version Incompatibility with BDRSuite Backup Server

Cause:
The error message "Agent version is incompatible with BDRSuite Backup Server" is encountered when there is a version mismatch between the BDRSuite Backup Server and the BDRSuite Integration Service running on Microsoft Windows host or workstation. This issue arises specifically when the BDR server has been upgraded to a higher version, and the BDRSuite Integration Service on the added host remains at a lower version.
This discrepancy can also arise when the added host becomes unreachable during the BDRSuite Backup Server upgrade process.
Solution:
To address the "Agent version is incompatible with BDRSuite server" error, follow these steps based on the type of host:
For Microsoft Windows Server:
1. Ensure the added host is reachable.
2. If reachable, restart the BDRSuite service from the Windows services console (services.msc).
For Desktop Operating Systems:
1. Download the BDRSuite Integration Service (VIS) installer here
2. Run the BDRSuite Integration Service installer on the target desktop host.
3. Upgrade the BDRSuite Integration Service to version 4.0.0 on the target machine.
4. After the upgrade, attempt to synchronize the added host by using the sync button in the BDR server interface. To access this, navigate to the backup section, select "Microsoft Windows," and then choose "Manage Microsoft windows host."
