How to Assign Free Edition Licenses to a BDRSuite Backup Server in the BDRSuite Portal
This KB provides a step-by-step guide for assigning free edition licenses to your BDRSuite backup server.
Solution:
Notes:
- For licenses other than VMs, a certain number of free licenses are provided by default. Details about these licenses can be viewed on the Free Edition Policy page.
- These free licenses are account-based, not per server, with 10 licenses available per account.
Step 1: Customize Free Edition Licenses
- Log in to the BDRSuite Portal: https://portal.vembu.com
- Go to the 'License Tab' and select 'Free Edition Policy'.
- Customize the allocation of free edition licenses between VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtual machine products.
Step 2: Review Default Licenses
- Note that 10 free licenses are available by default for VM-related plugins.
- These can be shuffled across VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, oVirt, and Proxmox.
Step 3: Allot Licenses to the Server
- Navigate to the 'Allot Licenses' page.
- Select the eligible licenses and allot them to the respective server.
Step 4: Confirm License Allotment
- Go to the 'Manage Virtual & Physical Entity Licenses' tab.
- Verify the assigned licenses under the 'Available Licenses in Server' sub-tab.
Step 5: Run License Check
- From the BDRSuite backup server, run the 'License Check' to assign the licenses.
- The server should now be assigned with the free licenses.
By following these steps, you can successfully customize and allocate free edition licenses to your BDRSuite backup server, ensuring they are properly assigned and confirmed.
