Configuring the Preferred Network Option for BDRServer

When your BDRServer machine has multiple IP addresses, you may need to specify which one an agent should use for communication. Follow these steps to configure the preferred network option.

Steps to Set Up the Preferred Network Option
1. Open the Backup Application
Launch the backup application on your machine.
2. Navigate to Backup Settings
- In the main menu, go to **Backup**.
- Select **Configure Backup Settings**.
3. Access Advanced Settings
Within the **Configure Backup Settings** menu, click on **Advanced Setting**.
4. Locate Backup Server DNS Name/IP Address
In the **Advanced Setting** section, find the option labeled **Backup Server DNS Name/IP Address**. This is where you specify which IP address the agent should use for communication.
5. Enter the Preferred IP Address
Enter the IP address you want the agent to use in the **Backup Server DNS Name/IP Address** field. Ensure this IP address corresponds to the correct network interface on your machine.
6. Update and Apply Settings
Click **Save** to apply the changes. This will update the agent configuration to use the specified IP address.
7. Verify Connection
Confirm that the agent is now communicating using the preferred IP address. You can usually check this in the agent's status or log files.
