- Download the appropriate BDRSuite Delegation Service (BDS) version for the host OS from the backup server console.
Note: When you select the option "Proxmox Backup and File-Level Backup" both Promox backup and File level backup for the BDRSuite Backup Server will be enabled.
- Enter the Backup Port details: This option allows you to specify the ports used for backing up virtual machines, which are exposed via the NBD protocol. You can define ports either individually or as a range, for example, 3265, 3500-3800, 73000, or 33400-33490.
- Click "Finish" to complete the setup. The BDS Agent will now be added to the BDR server, and the Proxmox host will appear in the BDR server console under:
Data Sources >> Hypervisors >> Proxmox
- Verify that the Proxmox host is listed.
- Go to the "Backup" tab in the BDR server console.
- Select "Configure Backup," then choose "Virtual Machines," followed by "Proxmox."
- Enter the required backup details and click "Next."
- Select the VMs you wish to back up from the list of added Proxmox hosts and complete the backup configuration process.
For Proxmox clusters, ensure that the BDS Agent is installed and configured on all nodes to enable seamless backups.
When a cluster node is added, all newly added nodes will be grouped together and displayed as a single entity under the specified cluster name.
All nodes of the cluster must be added either through manual agent installation or automatic agent push.
Verify connectivity between the BDRSuite Backup Server and all nodes in the Proxmox cluster.
By following these steps, you will successfully set up BDS agents on your Proxmox VE host or cluster and configure backups for your virtual machines through the BDRSuite console.
