Troubleshooting Login Issues: Verify VembuPostgreSQL Service is Active

Issue: Unable to Log In - Ensure VembuPostgreSQL Service is Running

KB ID: 115123
Cause 1: BDRSuite PostgreSQL Database
This error occurs when the PostgreSQL service is not functioning correctly on your backup server machine, or it has stopped due to environmental factors.
Solution:
1. Check the status of the PostgreSQL service based on your version:
  1. For BDRSuite PostgreSQL Database (v5.3 and newer)
  2. For VembuBDR PostgreSQL Database (v5.0)
  3. For VembuPostgreSQL (up to v4.2)
You can find these services in 'services.msc'. If they are stopped, start them.
2. If the PostgreSQL services fail to start, follow these steps:
  1. Open the task manager on your machine.
  2. In the 'Details' tab, check if 'postgres.exe' is running. If found, terminate any child executables related to VembuPostgreSQL.
  3. Stop all BDRSuite services listed in 'services.msc'.
Now, start the services in the following order:
   1. BDRSuite PostgreSQL Database
   2. BDRSuite WebServer
   3. BDRSuite Backup Server Virtual Physical Workloads
   4. BDRSuite Memcache for AWS
   5. BDRSuite 360 Agent
   6. BDRSuite WebService for AWS
   7. BDRSuite WebSocket for AWS
   8. BDRSuite Backup Server for AWS
   9. BDRSuite Backup Server Google Workspace
   10. BDRSuite Backup Server Microsoft 365
   11. BDRSuite Granular Recovery for MS Applications
   12. BDRSuite Client PostgreSQL Database
Cause 2
Problem: This error occurs when the drive letter of your installed PostgreSQL data storage location is changed.
Solution: Follow the steps provided in [this link](provide_link_here) for migrating Vembu BDR/Vembu OffsiteDR internal database (PostgreSQL) files from one location to another.
Cause 3
Problem: Sometimes, this error is due to the Webserver browser cache.
Solution: Ensure that you restart both the BDRSuite WebServer and BDRSuite PostgreSQL Database services. Start PostgreSQL first and then the Webserver.
Cause 4
Problem: The error can occur if the PostgreSQL database storage location was configured on an unsupported file system like exFAT.
Solution: We do not recommend installing the PostgreSQL service on an exFAT file system. Supported file systems include NTFS and ReFS, while unsupported ones include FAT32, UDF, exFAT, NAS, and Removable Drives (USB Drives).
Make sure to select a supported file system when installing PostgreSQL. If the issue persists, please contact Vembu support for further assistance.
