Troubleshooting Guide: Unable to Connect to BDRSuite Portal

KB ID: 115070
Issue:
Users are encountering difficulties connecting to the BDRSuite Portal. The issue may arise due to the following reasons:
a) Internet connectivity problems.
b) Proxy server issues or incorrect credentials.
Solution:
a) Check Internet Connectivity:
Ensure that the BDR Backup Server or Offsite DR Server has a stable and proper internet connection. This is crucial for establishing a connection with the BDRSuite Portal.
b) Proxy Settings Check and Update:
For BDR and ODR servers operating on version 5.0, follow these steps:
Applicable Version: 5.0
Products: BDRSuite Backup Server & BDRSuite Offsite DR Server
Operating System: Windows
Starting from version 4.0, dedicated Proxy Settings page is available for BDR and ODR servers.
1. After logging in to the server, navigate to the following link:
   `<machinename(or)machineIP>:6060/v/#/proxyUpdate`
2. On the Proxy Settings page, you can edit the following details:
   - Proxy Name
   - Proxy Port
   - Proxy Username
   - Proxy Password

3. Once you have provided the accurate proxy details, save the changes by clicking the "Update" button.
4. Try registering the BDRSuite Backup Server or BDRSuite Offsite DR Server with the BDRSuite Portal again.
Note: If your BDR/ODR server has direct internet access, you can remove the "HTTP Proxy Server Settings."
For Older Versions:
If you are using an older version of the BDR or ODR Server (e.g., BDR v3.9.1 and older), it is recommended to upgrade to the latest version. After upgrading, follow the aforementioned steps to configure the proxy settings.
By ensuring proper internet connectivity and accurately configuring proxy settings, you can establish a successful connection between the BDRSuite Backup Server, BDRSuite Offsite DR Server, and the BDRSuite Portal.
