KB ID: 104007
Cause:
This issue arises when attempting to create a backup job for a Virtual Machine (VM) with a configuration file located in a CSV (Cluster Shared Volume) and its disk(s) located in a non-CSV volume, or vice versa. Additionally, the issue may occur if the VM's disk is spread across both CSV and non-CSV volumes.
Solution:
To resolve this issue, it is necessary to move the VM's configuration file and all its disks to either a CSV volume or a local volume. Follow the steps below to perform the required actions:
For VMs in a FailOver Cluster:
1. Access the FailOver Cluster Manager on any of the cluster nodes.
2. Right-click on the Virtual Machine.
3. Select "Move" and then click on "Virtual Machine Storage" option.
4. Move the VM's storage as required to either CSV volume or local volume.
For VMs not part of a Cluster Role:
1. Open the Microsoft Hyper-V console.
2. Right-click on the VM that needs to be moved.
3. Click on "Move" -> "Next" -> "Virtual Machine's Storage."
4. Move the VM's storage to either CSV volume or local volume.
By following these steps, you can ensure that the VM's configuration file and all its associated disks are placed in a consistent location, allowing you to create a successful backup job with BDRSuite
